Sharing Resource Calendars (Google Workspace) with your service user

This article helps to explain this G Suite helpdesk article

You will need to either complete these steps for each resource calendar under your account, or elevate your service user's privileges to super-admin status, in order for Meeting Room 365 to have create / write / update permissions for calendar events (which enables instant reservations, end early, and extend meeting).

Typically, a service user which is a super-admin will not need to complete this step.

However, for good reason, you may not wish for your service user to be a super admin. Or, it may be taking too long to elevate privileges (this can take up to two weeks to complete, according to Google).

So, alternatively, you can share your resource calendars directly with your service user, following the steps below.

1. Navigate to your G Suite Calendar page

This step will involve adding calendars to your calendar view which may clutter your normal G Suite calendar view, and it may help to do this as your service user, but this is not required.

Your first step will be to navigate to your G Suite calendar page, to manage calendar sharing for your newly-created resource calendars.

2. On the left, next to Other Calendars, click Add and then Subscribe to a calendar.

3. Select the calendar you wish to add

4. Navigate to Share with Specific People

5. Enter the name of the service user

6. Give that user permission to make changes to the Resource Calendar
