reTerminal E1001 Setup with the Sensecraft HMI portal

When purchasing and unboxing the reTerminal E1001 you will be instructed that you can create an account at https://sensecraft.seeed.cc/hmi to manage your devices.

This portal allows you to set a unique URL for each device with minimal out of the box setup, and it will take a screenshot on an interval of that URL, and update the e-ink display.

When testing a firmware update was available which completely broke this functionality at the time of testing. This may be fixed in the future.

Currently, this can be set up by navigating to the sensecraft HMI portal, Selecting Workspace, My Pages, and + Web Content.

Then, you can add a URL with this format:

https://app.meetingroom365.com/esign?scale=0.5&timeOffset=PST&key=yourdisplaykey

Note the timezone is there, it can be EST CST PST GMT UTC etc. for the US (for daylight savings time) or a simple integer (like -8).

This URL will render a page or return an error, synchronously (server-side), which makes it compatible with the e-ink display. This URL does not update (it just renders once). It relies on the display to re-fetch it on an interval.

At time of testing, this device can get 2+ weeks of usage on a 5 minute interval and 3+ weeks of usage on a 10 minute interval. The device currently costs $69-$76 and is available to ship from the EU, US, and China.
